The Newport County
Chamber of Commerce and the Rhode Island Defense Economic Planning Commission
along with the Central Rhode Island, North Central Rhode Island,
Narragansett and East Greenwich Chambers of Commerce have teamed up to
introduce Rhode Island Salutes,
Military Family Discount Program. This program is
designed to recognize the contributions our Rhode Island
National Guard and local military make to our Rhode
Island economy and their contributions
to our security
here at home and abroad.
This program also recognizes
that National Guard and military facilities and their
personnel are valued members of the State of Rhode
Island. In essence, Rhode Island Salutes is our simple
way to say thanks to all of those in the military that
have given so much to our state and country.
Active Duty Military
personnel and their families are encouraged to shop at
the participating stores and businesses and simply
present your military ID card to access discounts to
many wonderful products and items available from quality
Rhode Island merchants.

honor our area servicemen & servicewomen,
while also opening up or expanding a large
market for area businesses. We were pleased
at the immediate results we experienced once
we registered our business. Just one week
after registering, we contracted a
significant amount of guestroom
accommodations for a RI National Guard
group. Our contacts at the Guard were very
